"Es una de las salas teatrales más importantes del país, reconocida internacionalmente por su calidad acústica y su belleza arquitectónica. Casi centenario, ha sido mantenido con los cuidados necesarios para no alterar sus características.
En este ámbito se realizan espectáculos teatrales y musicales y recientemente ha sido equipado con un sistema de proyección y sonido de la más alta calidad para exhibir películas cinematográficas en forma simultánea con salas de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires.
Florencio Constantino nació en Ortuella, España el 9 de Abril de 1868.
Un noviazgo no aceptado por su familia hace que se traslade en 1889 a la Argentina.
Aquí se casa y se dirige a Bragado donde se dedica al trabajo de campo y participa de la vida política.
Un periodista, conociendo sus habilidades artísticas, le propone cantar en el Salón del Club Español de Capital Federal.
Aquí comienza su carrera y en 1903 es aclamado por críticos y públicos de distintos lugares: Florencia, Berlín, Madrid, Varsovia, etc. Se convierte en pionero en la interpretación de composiciones musicales autóctonas (Milonga Triste y Vidalita) en el exterior.
Florencio Constantino ya consagrado mundialmente decide homenajear a su país adoptivo y a Bragado con la construcción, en esta Ciudad, de un teatro de ópera con capacidad para 2000 personas.
Florencio Constantino muere el 16 de noviembre de 1919, con la certeza de que había cumplido aquel sueño de desenterrar el tesoro que llevaba en su garganta.
Sus restos descansaron en el Panteón Vasco del cementerio de la ciudad de México DF y fueron repatriados a la Argentina, donde se encuentran en su último destino en Bragado, el pueblo de sus amores.
Su inauguración fue el 25 de Noviembre de 1912, representándose la ópera «La Boheme». Continuaron las presentaciones de zarzuelas, realizándose las primeras funciones cinematográficas en 1915.
El teatro ha cumplido siempre con los fines ideados por su creador. Pasaron por su escenario las más importantes compañías teatrales, dramáticas y de comedias, solistas, conjuntos musicales coros del país destacándose, entre otros, la figura del popular Carlos Gardel, sin descuidar las exhibiciones cinematográficas y distinto tipo de expresiones culturales del lugar."

His remains rested in the Basque Pantheon in the cemetery of Mexico City and were repatriated to Argentina, where they are in their final destination in Bragado, the town of his loves.
