"In the early days, near the border of Warrenton, Captain Rodger Taylor owned a tavern. In 1816, it was the home of Thomas Oden. Rodger Taylor was considered to be a very congenial landlord whose tavern was noted for its wild turkey dinners. This was one of the important taverns that made a traveler's journey along the Trail more pleasant. The marker is located on the north side of Highway M, about four miles east of Warrenton, in the front yard of 583 Highway M." ~ Boonslick Road
