These four cows stand alongside the The Consett and Sunderland Railway Path where it passes close to the entrance to Beamish Open Air Museum.

he Consett and Sunderland Railway Path is a rails to trails cycle and foot path. It is the SUSTRANS National Cycle Route 7 and follows the route of an early mineral railway, The Stanhope and Tyne that opened in 1834. link

There are a number of sculptures along the route and this one was sculpted by Sally Matthews.

The four cows are made from recycled parts from a mechanical digger. They are walking towards a road bridge that crosses the route of the trail.
