[ES] “Esta locomotora formaba parte de un total de 25 unidades clasificadas como Clase o Tipo "K", numeradas del número 101 al 120 y del 132 al 137.

Fueron construidas por North British Loco Co. Ltd. La 106 llega a Riotinto en el año 1907.

Esta serie de locomotoras (Tipo "K") prestó sus servicios en Corta Atalaya, posteriormente pasa a realizar tareas de maniobra a Cochera Mina y finalmente realizó algunos trenes especiales a Huelva y terminal de Las Mallas. Uno de estos trenes especiales lo realizó en el año 1975, (última vez que funcionó), en el viaje con motivo de la visita que realizó en esa fecha la Asociación Sevillana de Amigos del Ferrocarril, llevando como maquinista a D. Rafael Sánchez y como fogonero a D. Luis Pérez Rodríguez.

Puesta a prueba el primero de Marzo de 1989, funcionó bastante bien, llegando a alcanzar la presión óptima de trabajo (160 £/pulgada2), por lo que se encuentra en buen estado de marcha.

Toda esta serie de locomotoras dio un rendimiento excelente, realizando los servicios más duros en el desescombro de Corta Atalaya durante su apertura inicial.”

[EN] “This locomotive was part of a total of 25 units classified as Class or Type "K", numbered from 101 to 120 and from 132 to 137.

They were built by North British Loco Co. Ltd. The 106 arrived in Riotinto in 1907.

This series of locomotives (Type "K") provided their services in Corta Atalaya, later they began to perform maneuvering tasks at Cochera Mina and finally made some special trains to Huelva and the Las Mallas terminal. One of these special trains was made in 1975, (the last time it operated), on the trip on the occasion of the visit made on that date by the Sevillian Association of Friends of the Railway, with Mr. Rafael Sánchez as driver and Mr. Luis Pérez Rodríguez as stoker.

Put to the test on March 1, 1989, it worked quite well, reaching the optimal working pressure (160 £/inch2), so it is in good working order.

This entire series of locomotives gave excellent performance, performing the hardest services in clearing debris at Corta Atalaya during its initial opening.”
