This former Council Chambers is now the local Walcha Library and History Centre, built in 1901.

The single-storey, brown-brick building has a galvanised corrugated iron hip roof, with a curved corrugated iron (bull-nosed style) verandah to the front supported by four square wooden posts over the concrete side walk. The front wall is stuccoed a russet-brown. A cream stuccoed façade rises in the centre with Date on a shield, and moulded 'COUNCIL CHAMBERS' below it.
