Los principios bautistas y su confesión de fe no son creadas por los mismos bautistas, o por unas tradiciones de los mismos. Los «principios» ya están antes, pues dimanan de la Palabra de Dios, la Biblia; y cuando hay gente que los aplica, ahí existe un grupo evangélico o cristiano sin más ambages de tradiciones o artificios humanos. Así que como la palabra de Dios entró en el primer siglo de nuestra era, entendemos que allí había ya personas que sin este nombre vivían el evangelio sin más añadidos (tradiciones, patrística, dogmas…)".
