This piece made by Xosé Lois Carreira, 6.5 meters high and weighing 75 tons, is located at the entrance of Xinzo. It is made of white stone.
It shows this half-woman, half-aquatic animal coming out of the water.
A Dama da Lagoa focuses on the mythological figure of female dwellers of the waters who emerged from their magical lethargy to restore order, justice and pantheistic balance.
Xinzo was a great lagoon, and as such there were aquatic beings that were equivalent to sea sirens or freshwater Xacias.
