"Raadhuis. Waarschijnlijk gebouwd tussen 1390 en 1393; na zware beschadiging in 1944 herbouwd. Rechthoekig gebouw met ingebouwde toren die een karakteristiek voorbeeld oplevert van het Vlaamse belfort. Inwendig: In de raadszaal smeedijzeren hek door J.P. van Baur-scheidt de Jonge, afkomstig uit de vierschaar van het Middelburgse Stadhuis."

"Council house. Probably built between 1390 and 1393; rebuilt in 1944 after heavy damage. Rectangular building with built-in tower that provides a characteristic example of the Flemish belfry. Interior: Wrought iron gate in the council chamber by J.P. van Baur-scheidt de Jonge, from the court of the Middelburg Town Hall."
