This memorial was erected in 2005 by the roadside overlooking the Firth of Clyde towards the south-western part of Great Cumbrae, an island off the Ayrshire coast of Scotland. The memorial is dedicated to those who lost their lives in conflicts and have no known grave, in particular those lost at sea.
The memorial was the idea of Ian Forsyth and was dedicated by the Rev. Marjory Mackay of the parish church. It was built by David Stevenson, with metalwork by Ian McBay.
