While not unusual to find a "Dove of Peace" engraved into a headstone, one does not often see an actual sculpture of a Dove in such a setting. This Dove watches over the grave of "Infant of D. R. and Della A. McCormick" who lived but one day. The Dove appears to be a part of the headstone itself, not art that was added later. The artist of this sculpture is not known.
