"Three students from two educational centers in the city placed among the five best in the XLI Galician Chemistry Olympiad in the area of ??the University of Vigo. Xoel Cid Mojón obtained second place , Paula Prieto Carreira was third and Yago Gómez Basalo finished in fifth position . Both Xoel and Yago carry out their studies at the IES Otero Pedrayo, while Paula does so at the Instituto del Couto. The tests were held simultaneously on March 8 in the four Galician cities, with 137 students from 40 educational centers throughout Galicia participating. The organization highlighted that the presence of male and female students was equally distributed at 50% on the occasion of International Women's Day.
