"The Plaza Mayor of Brunete shows a spectacular Escurialense style, square and open by two large staircases. It constitutes one of the most relevant historical-cultural legacies of our municipality. The configuration of the Plaza follows the traces of the 16th century dictated in the Laws of the Indies for overseas developments. It is not completely closed, leaving this opening space for two stairs, one for the entrance to the Plaza and the other for the ascent to the Church.
One of the elements that make it especially beautiful are the arcades that surround it, with more than 60 granite columns extracted from the same quarries where the stones were extracted for the construction of the Monastery of El Escorial or the Plaza de Oriente in Madrid.
The Town Hall and other municipal offices are located in the Plaza Mayor.
Completing its particular beauty is a stone fountain in the center, crowned with lanterns and a metal sun; the little gardens that give access; and the bright color of the flowers that stand out against the granite gray of the surroundings.

The Plaza Mayor is the place where most of the town's events are celebrated. There the Patron Saint festivities, the typical dances and the procession in honor of our patron saint, the Cristo del Patrocinio, are inaugurated, the Parade of the Three Wise Men ends, the new year is inaugurated, concerts, exhibitions, contests, fairs, tournaments are organized, rallies of classic cars, etc. The terraces of the bars in the Plaza are the meeting point for friends who chat quietly in the shelter of their structure."
