"La catedral de San Andrés Apóstol o simplemente catedral de Amalfi (en italiano: Cattedrale di S. Andrea Apostolo) Es una catedral católica del siglo ix en la Piazza del Duomo, en Amalfi, Italia. Está dedicada al Apóstol San Andrés cuyas reliquias se guardan aquí. Antiguamente sede episcopal de la diócesis de Amalfi, ha sido desde 1986 la de la diócesis de Amalfi-Cava de Tirreni.
Predominantemente de estilo románico árabe-normando, ha sido remodelada varias veces, añadiendo elementos románicos, bizantinos, góticos y barrocos. La catedral incluye la Basílica del Crucifijo del siglo ix adyacente. Cerca de la basílica esta la cripta de San Andrés.
La catedral más nueva fue construida al lado de la basílica más vieja que fue construida sobre las ruinas de un templo anterior. Los restos de San Andrés fueron llevados a Amalfi desde Constantinopla en 1206 durante la Cuarta Cruzada por el Cardenal Pedro de Capua. En 1208, la cripta fue completada y las reliquias fueron entregadas a la iglesia."

"The Cathedral of Saint Andrew the Apostle or simply Amalfi Cathedral (Italian: Cattedrale di S. Andrea Apostolo) is a 9th-century Catholic cathedral in Piazza del Duomo, Amalfi, Italy. It is dedicated to the Apostle Saint Andrew whose relics are Formerly the episcopal seat of the diocese of Amalfi, it has been that of the diocese of Amalfi-Cava de Tirreni since 1986.
Predominantly in the Arab-Norman Romanesque style, it has been remodeled several times, adding Romanesque, Byzantine, Gothic and Baroque elements. The cathedral includes the adjacent 9th-century Basilica of the Crucifix. Near the basilica is the crypt of Saint Andrew.
The newer cathedral was built next to the older basilica which was built on the ruins of an earlier temple. The remains of Saint Andrew were brought to Amalfi from Constantinople in 1206 during the Fourth Crusade by Cardinal Peter of Capua. In 1208, the crypt was completed and the relics were given to the church."
