"Sant Llorenç de Maçanet es una iglesia románica de Maçanet de la Selva (Selva) incluida en el Inventario del Patrimonio Arquitectónico de Cataluña . La parroquia de San Lorenzo de Maçanet está situado en el centro de la población, con construcciones adosadas a los lados norte y de poniente. Construida entre los años 1040 y 1070, está dedicada a San Lorenzo . Durante los siglos xiv , xv y xvi se fueron construyendo varios añadidos y nuevas dependencias, como la sacristía, que es del siglo xvii . En 1936 la iglesia fue saqueada e incendiada. Actualmente se venera la imagen gótica de alabastro de la Virgen de Cabrera.

La iglesia de Sant Llorenç fue construida entre los años 1040 y 1070. La construcción fue posible con el esfuerzo de la gente de la zona, y la contribución económica del obispo. En la parte humana, la primera referencia data del año 1207, en que el cura titular de la parroquia era el canónigo Guillem de Cartellà, hijo de Ermesenda de Cartellà. Por encima de la nave hay una buhardilla , construida para evitar goteros y que se utilizaron de defensa cuando la iglesia se convirtió en fortaleza; por eso encontramos las aspilleras . Durante los siglos xiv , xv y xvi se fueron construyendo varios añadidos y nuevas dependencias, según las necesidades de los momentos históricos de cada época. La sacristía que se introduce un poco en el ábside de la nave principal, fue construida en el siglo xvii . La iglesia antes de ser afectada por los graves destrozos ocasionados por la guerra civil , era un conjunto histórico-artístico extremadamente rico, dotado de múltiples elementos de gran valor."
