On the top of this stone fountain, there is a sculpture of a mermaid with long hair and a fish tail leaning on a mast or something similar.
Entrance is free, as both gates are open to the general public.

"Mermaid, sirens, etc are mythological sea creatures belonging to legends and folklore.

Originally, in classical antiquity, they were depicted as hybrid beings with the face or torso of a woman and the body of a bird (similar to the Ba of Egyptian mythology) inhabiting a rocky island; from the Middle Ages onwards they took on a pisciform appearance: beautiful women with fish tails instead of legs who dwelt in the deep. In both cases they were attributed an irresistible melodious voice with which they attracted sailors madly."
