Descripción: Escudo medio partido y cortado. Primero, de sinople, tres fajas formadas por sendas hileras de casas de oro. Segundo, de oro, dos árboles arrancados de sinople. Tercero, de plata, seis calderas de sable puestas en dos palos de tres, bordura de gules con ocho escudetes de plata cargados con tres fajas de azur. Al timbre, corona real cerrada.

Significado: El primer cuartel representa la primera parte del topónimo "villanueva". El segundo su agricultura. El tercero son las armas de Pedro de Tapia, hombre de leyes y entre otros cargos, miembro del Consejo de Castilla, que dio nombre al municipio por comprar los terrenos a Felipe III en 1603.

Description: Half-broken and cut shield. First, of chinople, three strips formed by rows of gold houses. Second, of gold, two trees uprooted from sinople. Third, of silver, six sable cauldrons placed on two poles of three, gules border with eight silver escutcheons loaded with three azure bands. At the buzzer, royal crown closed.

Meaning: The first quarter represents the first part of the place name "villanueva". The second is agriculture. The third are the arms of Pedro de Tapia, a man of law and, among other positions, a member of the Council of Castile, which gave its name to the municipality for purchasing the land from Philip III in 1603.
