Deze brug is aangelegd om twee natuurgebieden met elkaar te verbinden.
Er ligt een druk spoor waar de weg op dood loopt voor wandelaars en fietsers die van park lingezegen 'de park' naar het 'waterrijk' willen wandelen of fietsen. Door de brug is dit nu mogelijk gemaakt.
Op de fiets kun je nu Rondje park Lingezege doen, een route van 38 kilometer en wandelend zijn er verschillende klompenpaden die gebruik maken van de brug.
De brug gaat behalve over het spoor ook, op hoogte, tussen de twee boerderijen door die in het gebied liggen.
De brug heeft zelfs de nationale staalprijs gekregen.

"Tussen de twee steden Nijmegen en Arnhem is de afgelopen jaren gewerkt aan de aanleg van een groot landschappelijk park: Park Lingezegen. Sluitstuk van dit park is de verbinding over het spoor dat het landschap sinds het eind van de 19e eeuw doorkruist.
De 350m lange brug ligt bij de Notenlaan waar meer dan 100 jaar oude Notenbomen staan. Om de bomen zoveel mogelijk intact te laten ligt de brug parallel naast de Notenlaan. Boven het spoor, op het hoogste punt, maakt de brug een slinger zodat fietsers en voetgangers uitzicht hebben op de monumentale Notenlaan en de prachtige bomen. Om de brug zo rank en slank mogelijk te laten zijn is de brug in staal uitgevoerd.
Door die ene slingerbeweging wordt je je bewust van alle kanten om je heen en beleef je op een nieuwe spannende manier de lange Notenlaan. Een effectieve beweging waarmee er maximaal zicht op het omliggende landschap is en een zo effectief mogelijke verhouding tussen helling en lengte.
Hekwerk, trappen en gaasramen
De hekwerken, de trappen en de gaasramen zijn in de vloeiende beweging van de brug mee ontworpen. De spijlen van het hekwerk verspringen ten opzichte van elkaar waardoor er een lichte beweging in het perspectief ontstaat. Voor de voetganger die tot nabij het spoor doorloopt zijn er twee trappen die vloeiend aansluiten in de bochten van de brug zodat de Notenlaan niet doodloopt. De ribben van de brug zijn hier plaatselijk verlengd voor de trapbordessen. De verplichte gaasramen boven het spoor zijn in de beeldtaal van de brug mee ontworpen.
Ten behoeve van het behouden van de slankheid van de constructie is gezocht naar een zo minimalistisch mogelijke verbinding tussen de ruggengraat en de kolommen. Naast verticale krachtsafdracht moet de verbinding ook de torsie uit het dek over kunnen dragen aan de kolommen. De compacte maar stijve verbinding tast het slanke uiterlijk van de brug zo min mogelijk aan."

This bridge was constructed to connect two nature reserves.
There is a busy track where the road comes to a dead end for walkers and cyclists who want to walk or cycle from park Lingezegen 'the park' to the 'waterrijk'. This has now been made possible by the bridge.

Fencing, stairs and mesh windows
The fencing, stairs and mesh windows have been designed to reflect the fluid movement of the bridge. The bars of the fence are offset from each other, creating a slight movement in perspective. For the pedestrian who continues close to the railway, there are two stairs that flow smoothly into the bends of the bridge so that the Notenlaan does not end in a dead end. The ribs of the bridge have been extended locally for the stair landings. The obligatory mesh windows above the track were designed in the visual language of the bridge.
To maintain the slenderness of the structure, the minimalist possible connection between the spine and the columns was sought. In addition to vertical force transfer, the connection must also be able to transfer the torsion from the deck to the columns. The compact but rigid connection affects the sleek appearance of the bridge as little as possible."
