Text:
Before the First World War in 1914, the Brühlhalle was built as part of the settlement of small industries in Simmern. In order to build this hall, the expansion of Schulstrasse was necessary. Due to the World War, the development of the "Blitz-Bohrer- und Werkzeugfabrik GmbH" Simmern company housed in the hall stagnated, so that after 1918 its use changed frequently until the city acquired the building and grounds in 1928. From then on it was used for exhibition purposes.
HUNSRÜCKHALLE
The first Hunsrück Hall was built as a wooden structure in 1936. It burned down completely during the war in 1944, but was rebuilt. Events still took place here in the 1950s. The new construction of today's Hunsrückhalle and the indoor swimming pool (leisure pool) took place between 1969 and 1971.
The Hunsrückhalle has 1,000 seats and was last renovated in 2002. The original indoor swimming pool was converted into a modern leisure pool. A new building to replace this leisure pool will be completed in 2022.
