Although only a small park, it is more pleasant to walk through here than alongside the busy road next to it.

The park used to be twice the size, but the other half was covered over when the road was widened.

The park which opened in 1881 is named after the small stream that passes through the park.

Historically, long before the area became a public park, local residents had the right to bleach their linen and take water for that purpose from the burn. In theory this right still exists but its unlikely anyone still does this.
