Besides being the birthplace of television personality Sally Jessy Raphael, and the hometown of boxer Larry Holmes, Easton Pennsylvania is also famous as the birthplace of Crayola crayons. First manufactured in 1903, in a small factory along Bushkill Creek, Crayola crayons grew to become one of the most recognizable brand names in America.

In 1996, Crayola opened what was then called The Crayola Factory in Easton as part of that city’s downtown revitalization effort. The family attraction features numerous hands-on experiences aimed at a younger audience with crayons being a central theme. They even boast the world’s largest Crayola crayon. Crayola has had long association with the Lehigh Valley and maintain their corporate headquarters in Easton.

The Crayola Factory has been rebranded as ‘The Crayola Experience’ and Crayola has opened similar attractions in other locations. I’ve noticed that the Crayola Experience in Orlando Florida also has giant crayons spilling out of a box. As these giant crayons are located outside the attraction, you do not have to enter to see them, but I’ve listed the entry fee nevertheless. The photos are from the multi-storied parking garage across the street.
