Aprobado: Resolución de 12 de abril de 2004, de la Dirección General de Administración Local, de la Junta de Andalucía (BOJA 28/4/2004)
Descripción: Escudo local con la siguiente descripción:"1.º Partes y elementos gráficos.
1.º 1. La Corona: Se conforma de la corona real de San Fernando de Sevilla, al timbre, inscrita en un rectángulo que consiste en:
- Un círculo de oro engastado en piedras preciosas sumando 8 tréboles (5 vistos), alternando con ocho pequeñas esferas (4 vistas) interpolado de perlas.
- Un cuerpo troncocónico base dividido en 2 partes por 3 anillos en relieve en cuya zona inferior se inscribe la leyenda "A QUIEN YO PUS NOMBRE TOR DEL REY", incrustándose en la zona superior las 9 piedras preciosas.
Todas las zonas horizontales de la corona estarán formadas o delimitadas por segmentos de elipses semejantes cuyos ejes están en la proporción de 70/18.
1.º 2. El Escudo:
La cartela o campo se inscribe en un rectángulo, cuadrilongo y redondeado en su parte inferior que termina ligeramente en punta, siendo sus proporciones 6 de alto con cinco de ancho. La línea del jefe se parte en dos mitades ligeramente cóncavas y cortados los dos ángulos de los cantones diestro y siniestro del jefe. Las líneas diestras y siniestras también son levemente cóncavas, siendo sus medidas las que se especifican en la descripción acotada.
En su único cuartel, centrado y expandiéndose desde el corazón o abismo del escudo, se inscribe el motivo principal y señero del mismo, La Pila y, en la zona de la punta inferior, abraza el Collar del Toisón.
La Pila o fuente de oro formado por un pilón de 8 lóbulos (5 vistos) rematados inferior y superiormente por molduras de sección semicircular. Forma parte de ella la taza superior en forma de copa, de cuyo interior emerge un surtidor que derrama de plata sobre ésta y el pilón inferior. El agua de azur con reflejos de plata.
En el centro de cada lóbulo se localiza un medallón ovalado en relieve adornados, para evitar la pluralidad de armas y de campos, con los motivos alusivos a las otras señas de identidad de nuestra villa:
- La Cruz de Santiago, al centro de gules, sombreada de sable.
- La Torre o Fortaleza, a la siniestra de tierra.
- El olivo, a la diestra, de sinople y bosque.
El Collar del Toisón de la Casa Real Española, de oro, situado en arco, bajo la Pila, ocupa la punta del escudo, atravesándolo de diestra a siniestra. Está formado por eslabones en B.
Hacia la punta, propiamente dicha, figura, pendiente, el vellocino, su cabeza mirando a la diestra.
2.º Paleta de color: Tanto la Corona como la Pila y el Toisón son de oro con sus contrastes y brillos. Las gemas de la Corona alternan de gules y sinople.
El fondo de la cartela se llena de azur que oscurece en los bordes."
Significado: La fuente o "pila" son armas parlantes. El primer escudo de Pilas, de 1839, llevaba únicamente ésta, pero en 1940 se decidió añadirle dos cuarteles, uno con la Cruz de Santiago -en 1247 la localidad fue conquistada por la citada orden- y otro con una paleta de pintor en recuerdo de la boda de Bartolomé Esteban Murillo con una hija del pueblo, además de añadir el Toisón de Oro. En 2004 se cambió el escudo eliminando la paleta de pintor, integrando la cruz de Santiago en la fuente, añadiéndole además una torre, -por el nombre primitivo de la localidad, Torre del Rey, hecho al que alude la inscripción de la corona- y un olivo, como elemento básico de la economía local. La fuente también aparece en los escudos de Fuentes de Andalucía y Aguadulce. Otros municipios como El Real de la Jara, Villanueva del Río y Minas, Villanueva del Ariscal, El Rubio, Gilena, Pilas y Almadén de la Plata también llevan la cruz de Santiago en sus escudos."

- A truncated conical base body divided into 2 parts by 3 rings in relief in the lower area of ??which the legend "TO WHOM I NAME TOR DEL REY" is inscribed, with the 9 precious stones embedded in the upper area.
All horizontal areas of the crown will be formed or delimited by segments of similar ellipses whose axes are in the proportion of 70/18.
1st 2. The Shield:
The cartouche or field is inscribed in a rectangle, quadrilong and rounded at the bottom that ends slightly in a point, its proportions being 6 high and five wide. The line of the leader is divided into two slightly concave halves and the two angles of the right and left cantons of the leader are cut. The right and left lines are also slightly concave, their measurements being those specified in the limited description.
In its only quarter, centered and expanding from the heart or abyss of the shield, the main and distinctive motif of the shield is inscribed, The Pila and, in the lower tip area, it embraces the Fleece Collar.
The Pila or gold fountain formed by a basin with 8 lobes (5 seen) finished off at the bottom and top by moldings with a semicircular section. The upper cup-shaped cup forms part of it, from the interior of which a spout emerges that pours silver over it and the lower basin. Azure water with silver reflections.
In the center of each lobe there is an oval medallion in embossed relief, to avoid the plurality of weapons and fields, with motifs alluding to the other hallmarks of our town:
- The Cross of Santiago, in the center gules, shaded with sable.
- The Tower or Fortress, on the left side of the land.
- The olive tree, on the right, of sinople and forest.
The Collar of the Fleece of the Spanish Royal House, made of gold, located in an arch, under the Pila, occupies the tip of the shield, crossing it from right to left. It is made up of links in B.
Towards the tip, properly speaking, a figure, slope, the fleece, its head looking to the right hand.
2. Color Palette: Both the Crown, the Pile and the Fleece are gold with their contrasts and shine. The gems of the Crown alternate between gules and sinple.
The background of the cartouche is filled with azure that darkens at the edges."
Meaning: The source or "stack" are talking weapons. The first coat of arms of Pilas, from 1839, carried only this, but in 1940 it was decided to add two barracks, one with the Cross of Santiago - in 1247 the town was conquered by the aforementioned order - and another with a painter's palette in memory of the wedding of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo with a daughter of the town, in addition to adding the Golden Fleece. In 2004 the shield was changed, eliminating the painter's palette, integrating the cross of Santiago in the fountain, also adding a tower, - due to the name primitive of the town, Torre del Rey, a fact to which the inscription on the crown alludes - and an olive tree, as a basic element of the local economy. The fountain also appears on the shields of Fuentes de Andalucía and Aguadulce.
