"The Via Outlets group will invest 30 million euros in the complex Vila do Conde Porto Fashion Outlet, specialized in stores in the textile sector that offer discounts. The injection is dedicated to the expansion of the shopping center by 10,000 square meters, according to the Portuguese media Expresso a>. «There are many brands interested in settling in this center, as well as businesses that have requested to increase their space. These are good indicators that allow us to establish ourselves as a reference destination," explained Jorge Pinto, business director at this complex.
The fashionable outlet of Vila do Conde is a destination visited by Galicians who cross the border or during their trips to Oporto and in the north of the neighboring country. The new investment promotes the implementation of 31 new stores, four restaurant spaces and the creation of 300 jobs, according to the figures provided by the group.
The L35 architecture studio will be in charge of the work. The intention is that work will begin in March 2024 and will be ready in the first half of 2025. With this expansion, the shopping center will add 31,000 square meters. The commercial area will increase by 6,500 square meters.
The Via Outlets group estimates that they will close 2023 with five million visits to the shopping complex in northern Portugal. 20% of the purchases were from Spanish customers, according to the data managed by the responsible company.
It has not been revealed which firms will be installed with this new expansion, but they have announced that they will be part of the premium-type textile segment."
