"The church is located in the heart of the village of Rochefort-Montagne. Its materials are typical: the bell tower and the west facade are made of andesite (grey-colored volcanic rock), the rest of the church being built of rubble stone covered with coating. In neo-Romanesque style, the building houses an altar decorated with a tetramorph, that is to say a symbol evoking the four evangelists in an allegorical manner (a bull for Saint Luke, a lion for Saint Mark, a eagle for Saint John and an angel for Saint Matthew).

Plan: The building is oriented. It is built according to an elongated plan consisting of a nave leading to a chancel with a semi-circular apse. Two chapels are placed on either side of the nave, forming a false transept. Additional buildings were attached to the north of the nave.

Exterior elevation: The gable wall is joined by four buttresses. It is pierced in its center by an arched door giving access to the church, surmounted by a polylobed glazed oculus taking place under a series of blind arcades. On either side of these elements are two arched bays.

The entire building is covered with a double-sloped roof. The bell tower dominates this roof. Polygonal in plan, it is pierced on two levels with twin arched bays and equipped with sound louvers.

The side walls of the church are also pierced with arched bays and joined by buttresses."

"L'église prend place au coeur du village de Rochefort-Montagne. Ses matériaux sont typiques : le clocher comme la façade ouest sont en andésite (roche volcanique de couleur grise), le reste de l'église étant bâti en moellons recouverts d'enduit. De style néo-roman, l'édifice abrite un autel orné d'un tétramorphe, c'est-à-dire d'un symbole évoquant les quatre évangélistes de manière allégorique (un taureau pour saint Luc, un lion pour saint Marc, un aigle pour saint Jean et un ange pour saint Mathieu).

Plan : L'édifice est orienté. Il est construit selon un plan allongé constitué d'une nef menant à un choeur au chevet semi-circulaire. Deux chapelles sont placées de part et d'autre de la nef, formant faux-transept. Des bâtiments annexes ont été accolés au nord de la nef.

Élévation extérieure : Le mur-pignon est accolé de quatre contreforts. Il est percé en son centre d'une porte cintrée donnant accès à l'église, surmontée d'une oculus polylobé vitré prenant place sous une série d'arcades aveugles. De part et d'autre de ces éléments sont percées deux baies cintrées.

L'ensemble de l'édifice est couvert d'une toiture à double pente. Le clocher domine cette toiture. De plan polygonal, il est percé sur deux niveaux de baies cintrées géminées et munies d'abats-son.

Les murs latéraux de l'église sont eux aussi percés de baies cintrées et accolés de contreforts. "
