"Probablement édifié au 15ème siècle, par la famille des Dolezon, cet hôtel particulier devient la résidence ponote (habitants du Puy-en-Velay) des vicomtes de Polignac en 1611.

Après la révolution, il accueille la préfecture du département (1811-1825).

L'édifice se distingue par son toit à la française (en forte pente) et sa torelle d'escalier dont les fenêtres présentent des moulures à base prismatique et des arcs en accolade caractéristiques de la fin du Moyen Âge."

"Probably built in the 15th century, by the Dolezon family, this private mansion became the ponote residence (inhabitants of Puy-en-Velay) of the viscounts of Polignac in 1611.

After the revolution, it hosted the department prefecture (1811-1825).

The building is distinguished by its French roof (steeply sloping) and its staircase turret whose windows have prismatic base moldings and braced arches characteristic of the end of the Middle Ages."
