A little History
The railway line from Puy-en-Velay to Langogne was put into service in 1912 to ensure the connection between industrial centers in the Saint-Etienne basin and those in the Cévennes. But since 1981, the trains have deserted this route and the rails have been removed to allow the development of a pleasant walk which will appeal to lovers of walking and cycling, VTC, mountain biking and e-bikes.

A course for the whole family
Connecting the Loire Valley (600m above sea level) to Solignac (850m), it rises continuously from Brives-Charensac, with an average slope of 2%. This slope is regular, easy and therefore suitable for all audiences! And finally, for the return, logically it goes down and you just have to let it roll. The start of the route (north-south direction) is located 4 km from Puy-en-Velay at the exit of Brives-Charensac station (600 meters above sea level).

A breathtaking heritage
From the connection from Puy-en-Velay to the Voie Verte, via the banks of the Borne, a whole heritage is available to you. From the Massot stadium, you have discovered Le Puy-en-Velay and now follow the Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe rock. A cool, pleasant walk along the water’s edge.

All along the Voie Verte, local heritage is in the spotlight. The banks of the Loire in Brives-Charensac, the village of Coubon but above all, in Solignac-sur-Loire, the Beaume waterfall. At km 17.6 of the Voie Verte, take the PR67 for 2km to discover an exceptional natural site and its 27m high waterfall."

Un peu d’Histoire
La ligne de chemin de fer du Puy-en-Velay à Langogne a été mise en service en 1912 pour assurer la liaison entre centres les industriels du bassin stéphanois et ceux des Cévennes. Mais depuis 1981, les trains ont déserté cette voie et les rails ont été déposés pour permettre l’aménagement d’une promenade agréable qui séduira les amateurs de marche et de vélo, VTC, VTT et VAE.

Un parcours pour toute la famille
Reliant la vallée de la Loire (600m d’altitude), à Solignac (850 m), elle monte en permanence à partir de Brives-Charensac, avec une pente moyenne de 2%. Cette pente est régulière, facile et donc adaptée à tous les publics ! Et enfin, pour le retour, logiquement ça descend et il n’y a qu’a se laisser rouler. Le début du parcours (sens nord-sud) se situe à 4 km du Puy-en-Velay à la sortie de la gare de Brives-Charensac (600 mètres d’altitude).

Un patrimoine à couper le souffle
Depuis la liaison du Puy-en-Velay à la Voie Verte, via les rives de la Borne, c’est tout un patrimoine qui s’offre à vous. Depuis le stade Massot, vous avez découvert Le Puy-en-Velay et longez désormais le rocher Saint-Michel d’Aiguilhe. Une promenade fraîche, agréable au bord de l’eau.

Tout au long de la Voie Verte, le patrimoine local est à l’honneur. Les bords de Loire à Brives-Charensac, le village de Coubon mais surtout, à Solignac-sur-Loire, la cascade de la Beaume. Au km 17,6 de la Voie Verte, empruntez le PR67 sur 2km pou découvrir un site naturel exceptionnel et sa cascade de 27m de haut. "
