"Este miércoles comenzaron las obras de la Plaza de Nuestra Señora de Cuatrovitas con las que el Ayuntamiento quiere que vuelva a ser centro neurálgico de la vida social del municipio.
Las obras de la nueva Plaza de Nuestra Señora de Cuatrovitas comenzaron este miércoles con un plazo de ejecución previsto de 10 meses y para la que se realizarán más de 150 contratos de trabajo. El proyecto reurbaniza y moderniza la plaza al completo eliminando todas las barreras arquitectónicas y ampliando la superficie transitable en 800 metros cuadrados.
El alcalde, Fernando Soriano, destacó en un comunicado municipal que «la finalidad de la actuación busca un espacio diáfano que sea centro neurálgico del municipio y devuelva la vida al corazón de Bollullos ». La inversión alcanza los 450.000 euros con cargo al Plan SUPERA V de la Diputación de Sevilla, el PFOEA (antiguo PER) y una contribución del Ayuntamiento de 50.000 euros. Tras la finalización de la nueva plaza solo quedará una última fase de la remodernización y peatonalización del centro del municipio correspondiente al último tramo de la Calle Larga (desde c/Antonino Ruiz a c/Antonio Cuesta).
El delegado de Urbanismo e Infraestructura Local, Sergio Sánchez, ha indicado que la nueva plaza «recupera el origen de la misma como prolongación de la salida de la iglesia San Martín de Tours y devuelve el antiguo recorrido de la Calle Larga, que se prolongaba mediante la c/ Cristo del Amor». «Queremos que la plaza se rearticule como un nodo ciudadano en el que las barriadas de la zona y los ciudadanos de cualquier punto del pueblo sientan que su plaza principal es esa» , incide.
Para Sánchez, a nivel de ejecución es muy importante acometer esta remodernización «para eliminar las barreras arquitectónicas actuales y obtener un espacio más vivo, con menos cemento y una distinta disposición que suavice el entorno» . El vial que mantendrá la plaza, que ya cortó su paso al tráfico de vehículos, será para uso exclusivo en caso de emergencias y para coches fúnebres.
Por otro lado, el delegado de Urbanismo anuncia que ya se trabaja en paralelo en un Plan de Movilidad Urbana Sostenible en el que se defina «un modelo que compatibilice el protagonismo de las personas, con vías públicas diseñadas pensando en ellas, con una solución a los problemas de tráfico ocasionados por el aumento de uso de vehículos en las últimas décadas y la antigua planificación urbanística»."

On the other hand, the Urban Planning delegate announces that work is already underway in parallel on a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan in which "a model is defined that makes the protagonism of people compatible, with public roads designed with them in mind, with a solution to "the traffic problems caused by the increase in vehicle use in recent decades and old urban planning.""
