El alcalde, Fernando Soriano, destacó en un comunicado municipal que «la finalidad de la actuación busca un espacio diáfano que sea centro neurálgico del municipio y devuelva la vida al corazón de Bollullos ».
Tras la finalización de la nueva plaza solo quedará una última fase de la remodernización y peatonalización del centro del municipio correspondiente al último tramo de la Calle Larga (desde c/Antonino Ruiz a c/Antonio Cuesta).
«Queremos que la plaza se rearticule como un nodo ciudadano en el que las barriadas de la zona y los ciudadanos de cualquier punto del pueblo sientan que su plaza principal."

"The project redevelops and modernizes the entire square, eliminating all architectural barriers and expanding the walkable surface by 800 square meters.
