The small town of Scone (pronounced scoon), is situated a couple of miles to the north of the Scottish city of Perth, and it is between these two places that the cemetery serving the town can be found on the south-east side of the A94 Perth Road.

The cemetery replaced the full old graveyard in the Old Parish Church which stands a few hundred yards on the other side of the road. The cemetery occupies an open sloping site, and takes the form of an elongated L-shape, with the only trees lining the road towards the northern side.
