"La Catedral Efímera se monta cada siete años en la Plaza Virgen del Rocío, en Almonte. Este impresionante exorno de estilo gótico diseñado para la venida de 2019-20 de la Reina de las Marismas por vez primera en la historia, se mantendrá construido durante los nueve meses de estancia de la Virgen en la villa almonteña.
Esta edificación artística ha sido remodelada y destacan sus dimensiones y su luminosidad. Uno de los principales cambios introducidos respecto a los montajes de años anteriores, es la sustitución de la estructura de madera por una estructura metálica. El arco alcanza los 20 metros de altura en su punto más alto y 60 metros de ancho, siguiendo el diseño de la arquitecta municipal Natividad López y cuenta con vidrieras e iluminación nocturna. La construcción se realiza en una aleación de aluminio y titanio blanco lo que posibilita la permanencia de la estructura principal durante los nueve meses que está la Virgen en Almonte. Basta con desmontar aquellos elementos ornamentales que constituyen la base del forrado en papel y que sí son susceptibles de deterioro en el tiempo. La introducción de la iluminación artística a través de la domótica en sustitución de la iluminación tradicional que se venía realizando hasta ahora supone un cambio en la manera de concebir el monumento efímero. Así, esta iluminación artística permitirá potenciar su carácter religioso y monumental a la vez que promoverá su atractivo turístico y favorecerá la puesta en valor del patrimonio cultural, etnográfico y religioso de la localidad."

"The Ephemeral Cathedral is assembled every seven years in the Plaza Virgen del Rocío, in Almonte. This impressive Gothic-style monument designed for the 2019-20 coming of the Queen of the Marshes for the first time in history, will remain built for the nine months of the Virgin's stay in the town of Almonteña.
This artistic building has been remodeled and its dimensions and luminosity stand out. One of the main changes introduced with respect to the installations of previous years is the replacement of the wooden structure with a metal structure. The arch reaches 20 meters high at its highest point and 60 meters wide, following the design of municipal architect Natividad López and has stained glass windows and night lighting. The construction is made of an aluminum and white titanium alloy, which makes it possible for the main structure to remain during the nine months that the Virgin is in Almonte. It is enough to dismantle those ornamental elements that constitute the basis of the paper covering and that are susceptible to deterioration over time. The introduction of artistic lighting through home automation to replace the traditional lighting that had been carried out until now represents a change in the way of conceiving the ephemeral monument. Thus, this artistic lighting will enhance its religious and monumental character while promoting its tourist attraction and favoring the enhancement of the cultural, ethnographic and religious heritage of the town."
