Why would one Church's cemetery be on the grounds of another Church? It happens when a particular Church closes and the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware moves into the closed first Church's property.

In 2013, Saint Albans Church closed. The Episcopal Diocese of Delaware assumed ownership of the former Saint Albans Church. There were still members of the Church and a place was needed to inter them. In 2013, this memorial garden was established and space in the cemetery for Grace Episcopal Church has been used for former Saint Albans congregants. Both the current Grace and former Saint Albans are only about 2 miles apart, so many former Saint Albans congregants now worship here.
