"El faro de Punta del Picacho, también conocido como el faro de Mazagón, es un faro situado en el municipio español de Moguer, en la provincia de Huelva, comunidad autónoma de Andalucía. Marca la entrada al puerto de Huelva, y está gestionado por la Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva.
Su antecedentes datan de 1844, cuando se pidió la instalación de luces en la embocadura de la ría para facilitar el tránsito marítimo en la zona. Este punto de iluminación marítima se creó en 1861 debido a las necesidades de iluminación en la embocadura de la ría de Huelva para facilitar la entrada en ella. En un primer momento se colocaron dos faroles de reflector con lámpara de aceite de oliva de luz fija.

Debido a la ausencia de fondos no se pudo ejecutar su construcción hasta 1901.
En 1925 se instaló un sistema de vapor de petróleo y en 1931 se instala otro de acetileno.
En 1952 se electrifica.
Está situado a 600 metros del mar, sobre una meseta arenosa en el margen derecho de la entrada a la ría de Huelva.
La torre poligonal tiene una altura de 25 metros y está construida de sillería encalada, con ladrillos vistos en sus vértices. Actualmente se encuentra allí el Centro Cívico de la ciudad."

"The Punta del Picacho lighthouse, also known as the Mazagón lighthouse, is a lighthouse located in the Spanish municipality of Moguer, in the province of Huelva, autonomous community of Andalusia. It marks the entrance to the port of Huelva, and is managed by the Port Authority of Huelva.
Its history dates back to 1844, when the installation of lights at the mouth of the estuary was requested to facilitate maritime traffic in the area. This maritime lighting point was created in 1861 due to the lighting needs at the mouth of the Huelva estuary to facilitate entry into it. At first, two reflector lanterns with a fixed light olive oil lamp were placed.

Due to the lack of funds, its construction could not be carried out until 1901.
In 1925 a petroleum steam system was installed and in 1931 another acetylene system was installed.
In 1952 it was electrified.
It is located 600 meters from the sea, on a sandy plateau on the right bank of the entrance to the Huelva estuary.
The polygonal tower has a height of 25 meters and is built of whitewashed ashlar, with exposed bricks at its vertices. Currently the city's Civic Center is located there."
