Life sized statue of Queen Elizabeth II
Situated inside the grounds of the South Australian Governor, the grounds are only open on specified public open days. Check the Governor or South Australia’s website for open day information www.governor.sa.gov.au
By sculptor Robert Hannaford AM it was unveiled virtually by the Queen in early 2021 during her first video meeting to Australia with the Governor of South Australia. During the meeting the sculptor presented a miniature version of it that was sent to her later.
Since its installation it has become a popular spot for visitors of Government House to take a photo within the grounds. The statue itself has received mixed reviews.

Queen Elizabeth II born 21 April 1926, was the Queen of the U.K. and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February, 1952 until her death on 18th September, 2022. She was Queen regnant of 32 sovereign states over the course of her lifetime and remained the monarch of 15 realms by the time of her death. Her eldest son Charles the III became King upon her death.
