Lincoln Caverns has been managed by the same family since 1932, the second year of operation. Myron Dunlavy Sr leased, then purchased the property. His son, Myron Dunlavy, Jr worked to reopen the caves for tourists after World War II. In 1972, the third generation, with Ann Dunlavy, worked at the cave as a guide and by 1977 became the manager and caretaker of Lincoln Caverns.

We were welcomed as soon as we entered the shop. There were many varieties of gems, minerals, and fossils. They can be purchased individually, in groups, or in bags. The staff is helpful and will make sure you find what you like.
One fun way to get some rocks is to pan for them. You can pan for gems in an old fashioned sluice.
