The Visitors Center for the Fort Griffin Historic Site is on the northwest side of US 283 - in Albany, Texas.

The Fort Griffin complex is on both sides of US 283. The Recreational Area is to the east of the highway, and the Historic Site (where the actual fort was) is on the west side. The Visitors Center is on the edge of the old fort. There is a modest day use fee to explore the site.
