This large draw well has never run dry - at Fort Griffin, Texas.

This hand-dug well was dug to a depth of forty feet and supplied water for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning, and watering horses. The well is not known to have ever run dry. A protective screen covers the well today to prevent objects (and visitors) from falling into the water below.
Note that there is an admission fee to enter the Fort Griffin State Historic Site. On the day of my visit it was a mere $4 for a day pass.
