When Fort Griffin was abandoned in 1881, many of the small civilian cemeteries in the area were forgotten. This cemetery was rediscovered, and is believed to contain about fifty graves. The waymark coordiantes are for the entry gate; to reach the cemetery is a .15-mile walk along a packed-earth grail.
