From late 2022 to early 2023, the former Pearl South Padre Beach Resort underwent a $30 million conversion into a Margaritaville resort. This conversion included a new Landshark Bar & Grill, upgrades to the pool area, new landscaping, a new lobby, and updated rooms. A Salty Rim Bar was also added as a swim-up bar beside the pool. The updated hotel officially opened on June 12, 2023.
