John A. Carman was but forty-seven years of age at the time of his death. His Woodman of the World grave marker appears to be a typical tree-trunk monument to which a Woodmen of the World plaque was added. The monument is a tree trunk with a crotch at the top, set on a base of four cut logs that are adorned with leaves and ivy. The inscription is:
