"Located approximately 20 kilometers from Lille, the Phalempin forest is one of the busiest national forests in the region. On its 679 hectares, it welcomes nearly 300,000 visitors per year. Despite its small size, the forest benefits from great biodiversity. Among its animal population, we find deer, foxes, rabbits, stoats, squirrels... And, among its vegetation: bluebells, primroses, wild garlic as well as a multitude of mushrooms. Oak and hornbeam rub shoulders with beech, ash, birch and even maple or mountain ash. The walker should know that tree cutting is necessary for forest management.

For your comfort, a kiosk near the ponds, shelters and information places, picnic tables have been set up (access via D62A). Trails are also present to allow you to easily explore the forest: hiking and horse riding trails, mountain bike trails and GR trails. The thematic trail will allow you, thanks to its panels, to discover the different aspects of the forest, such as the fauna, the flora and the forest ecosystem.

Take the dense network of hiking trails and discover the forest in all its diversity: Phalempin forest circuit (7 km), “At the edge of the woods” circuit (3 km), GR 121... Without forgetting the circuits Mountain biking (9 km) and bridleways (10 km).

The forest is prohibited for any motorized vehicle: moped, quad, mini motorcycle, etc. Under penalty of trial, class 4 of €135. The collection of dead wood is prohibited, picking is tolerated, with the exception of bulbs and roots."
