Pub sign outside the Rose & Crown, St John Street, Wells.

What seems to be a fairly standard design for Rose & Crown pubs, a black background with red and white rose topped by a royal crown on a spray of leaves.

The sign is a celebration of the end of the War of the Roses and the uniting of the red rose of Lancaster and the white rose of York when Henry Tudor married Elizabeth of York.

"Situated just off the high street, this thriving town centre pub has at least four ales on most of the time, changing on a regular basis. If you visit on a Friday evening, between 5:30 and 8:00 PM there is free pizza and a happy hour price reduction on all beers, while on Sundays there is a free buffet! Very friendly and welcoming staff."
