Jyrkkäkosken ruukki aloitti toimintansa vuonna 1831 omistajansa Zachris Franzénin johdolla. Se käytti järvi- ja suomalmia raaka-aineenaan. Museovirasto suoritti ruukin suojaus- ja rekonstruointitoimenpiteet vuosina 1996–1998 ja rakensi suojarakennuksen ruukin ympärille. Uudisosassa toimii nykyään myös kahvila.

Jyrkkäkoski iron furnice started in 1831 with Zachris Franzén as the first owner. It used limonite from lakes to make iron. Finnish Heritage Agency built renovation and protection in 1996–1998 around this iron furnace. There is nowadays also a cafe in this building.
This iron furnice started 1831, the listing says it started 1909 but that is just because Groundspeak seems to be totally uncapable of coding software.
