On 9 October 1910 100 women met to found The Women’s Club which first opens in rented rooms in Rowe Street.
It has moved to various locations in the city and by 1920 had over 800 members.
In 1992 it moved to its current location. Membership confers reciprocal membership to similar clubs around the world. Junior membership extends to those of 35 years and under.
Members must be elected to join and pay an unspecified amount each year. They receive a key and the door is locked to outside people.
