"Emplazada sobre la planta de una antigua mezquita musulmana, fue construida alrededor del siglo XVI, después de la general conversión para el culto cristiano.

De aspecto sencillo y modesto, atesora en su interior una de las más sorprendentes joyas de la carpintería mudéjar granadina. Se trata de una bellísima armadura octagonal de delicada decoración geométrica. Debajo de esta armadura, en un lado del prebisterio y pasando desapercibida, se encuentra la segunda sorpresa de este particular templo, la pila bautismal, una pieza renacentista, de las pocas en la Diócesis de Guadix. El coro es, también, una interesante obra, en este caso barroca, con buena talla de sus maderas.

Resulta curioso el reloj de sol que posee el templo en una de sus fachadas. Durante algunos años estuvo encalado y en la actualidad ha sido rescatado de la pintura."

"Located on the floor of an old Muslim mosque, it was built around the 16th century, after the general conversion to Christian worship.

With a simple and modest appearance, it houses one of the most surprising jewels of Granada's Mudejar carpentry. It is a beautiful octagonal armor with delicate geometric decoration. Under this armor, on one side of the presbytery and going unnoticed, is the second surprise of this particular temple, the baptismal font, a Renaissance piece, one of the few in the Diocese of Guadix. The choir is also an interesting work, in this case baroque, with good wood carving.

The sundial that the temple has on one of its facades is curious. For some years it was whitewashed and has currently been rescued from the paint."
