A large triangle of commercial land has a large cluster of Texas Department of Transportation Right of Way (R.O.W.) bench marks, that includes STA. 298, along the edges of the commercial properties that faces the IH-10 Frontage Road.

An odd shaped block of commercially developed land was formed by the intersections created by the IH-10 Frontage Road, Brad Street, West Wildwood Drive and West Hermosa Drive. This oddly shaped city block is within the central part of San Antonio, TX, about 5 miles northwest of downtown. The property has been used by various companies, usually displaying large commercial vehicles for rent or for sale. Along the outer edges of this property are found six (6) Txdot R.O.W. bench marks spaced unevenly around the properties perimeter, with only one disk actually being inside a fenced area. However, that one was mounted close enough to the fence to photograph it with a telephoto lens through the chain link fence. The other five monumented disks were placed close to a low barrier fence made of large sized pipe which allows for easy access to the disks placed within the public sidewalk.
The featured bench mark disk for this waymark Is at the north corner of the island formed where West Wildwood Drive intersects with Brad Street and continues to the Frontage Road. The disk is horizontally mounted level with the sidewalk but is close to one of the vertical pipes supporting the larger sized horizontal pipe barrier fence.
This bench mark is a round metal disk an engraved X or + symbol in the center. There are two rows of text stamped into the metal that arch around the outer rim of the disk. Here is a description of what is stamped on this disk:
