The Onondaga County War Memorial multi-use arena began construction in 1949 and was completed in 1951.
Officially called the Upstate Medical University Arena at Onondaga County War Memorial the building is located in the north end of Syracuse. The 7,000 - seat arena is dedicated to all those who served America during times of war and peace. It is currently home to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
The building is an example of the Moderne style, akin to art-deco, prevalent in the 1930's and 40's.

It was added to the NHRP on 19 December 1988.
