"La iglesia de la Divina Pastora, también conocida coloquialmente como iglesia de los Capuchinos, es una parroquia situada en la ciudad granadina de Motril.

En 1641, se estableció en Motril la orden religiosa de los capuchinos y se inició así la construcción de un nuevo convento en la ciudad en 1652, a pesar de la oposición de franciscanos y frailes mínimos de la Victoria, que eran las dos órdenes religiosas de la ciudad. Estas obras finalizaron en el 1656; el resultado fue un templo caracterizado por su pobreza y extrema sencillez, y formado por una única nave.

Antiguo convento de capuchinos, la iglesia sirve de ayuda a la parroquial desde mediados del siglo xix.

La parroquia celebra la Semana Santa motrileña3? con dos figuras que bendicen las calles cada Sábado Santo; a saber, el Santísimo Cristo Yacente y la Virgen de la Soledad, que son titulares de la cofradía de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad y del Santísimo Cristo Yacente.

Además, la Divina Pastora (titular de la iglesia) realiza una salida extraordinaria cada mes de octubre por las calles de Motril, la cual reúne a los fieles de esta sagrada figura mariana."

"The Church of the Divina Pastora, also known colloquially as the Church of the Capuchins, is a parish located in the Granada city of Motril.

In 1641, the religious order of the Capuchins was established in Motril and the construction of a new convent in the city began in 1652, despite the opposition of Franciscans and Friars Minimum de la Victoria, which were the two religious orders of the city. These works finished in 1656; The result was a temple characterized by its poverty and extreme simplicity, and formed by a single nave.

Former Capuchin convent, the church has served as an aid to the parish church since the mid-19th century.

The parish celebrates Holy Week in Motrileña3 with two figures who bless the streets every Holy Saturday; namely, the Santísimo Cristo Yacente and the Virgen de la Soledad, who are holders of the brotherhood of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad and the Santísimo Cristo Yacente.

Furthermore, the Divina Pastora (head of the church) makes an extraordinary outing every October through the streets of Motril, which brings together the faithful of this sacred Marian figure."
