The Upstate Medical University Arena (originally known as Onondaga County War Memorial and later as the Oncenter War Memorial Arena) is a multi-purpose arena located near Syracuse's downtown area.
Since it's completion in 1951, the arena has been home to the NBA's Syracuse Nationals (NBA Champions in 1954), the National Lacrosse League's Syracuse Smash, and several other professional teams, now all defunct.
The arena played host to the NBA All-star game in 1961.
The Syracuse Crunch have been tenants since 1994, when the team was shifted from Hamilton, Ontario where it was known as the Hamilton Canucks.
