The Blue Benn Diner traces its roots to 1948, when it opened its doors as the Silk City Diner.
The diner is located in an authentic rail car, manufactured in 1948 by the Paterson Vehicle Co. of Paterson, NJ. Since its original owner Sonny Monroe opened its doors, the diner has seen countless thousands of hungry folks pass through its doors, use its booths, play the booth jukeboxes and fill up on well-prepared, affordable breakfast and lunch fare.
The diner has been featured in many media over the years, from the New York Times to Martha Stewart. It has consistently rated as one of the top 10 diners in the US. When we visited there were license plates from at least a dozen states and provinces in the lot, with a 45 minute wait for seating!
Diner is open daily from 6 AM to 2 PM, closed Mondays.
