Photos taken on 6 October 2023 while completing the HQ GeoTour. The sundial has seen better days as it's been here since 1978. But it offers great views of downtown Seattle from here on clear days. It looks to be made out of concrete with abstract forms in mind, and painted areas to fill in the contrast.
Scientific Principle(s) being demonstrated: Astronomy, light, and time keeping
Briefly explain if the experiment was effective for you. Could it have been better?: Yes, it was since it was very sunny but it was difficult to read the words on the ground. They are very worn.
When is the apparatus/experiment available to the public: 24/7
