Baptism font in St Cuthbert's church, Wells.
An octagonal font with quarterfoil carved designs on the side panels. The shaft, also octagonal, is carved with tall trefoil arch arcading. 15th century in style, Victorian neo-Gothic, but largely 19th century construction. The wooden canopy above does date from the 15th century.
St Cuthbert dates back to the 12th Century, with many changes over the years, and demonstrates in its stone and windows, its large size and colourful ceiling the changing fortunes of the city of Wells, of which it is the historic Parish Church.
